Mr. 17 months!

Jayden turned 17 months yesterday! Time is passing too quickly! He's learning so much! Yesterdays' biggest accomplishment was him saying the word "book"!

He was playing in his room, he came into the living room holding one of his books and said "uh book" which meant he wanted me to read it to him! It was a Dr. Seuss ABC book, I got to letter E and then he took over, pointing at pictures. And then, when we got to letter O, he saw the owl and said "Owl"! <--- Proud mom!

Hope you enjoy the little clip! Have a great Wednesday & God Bless!

Glitter Nail Polish....Is a Pain to take off!!

Pretty much anyone who knows me, knows that I love to paint my nails! They may not get done every week and on time, but I enjoy painting them! Sometimes, I even enjoy putting a little glitter on them. Like last week, I decided to glitter them up & so far, I LOVE the look!
But, I get bored with my nail polished nails pretty quickly (plus it was already coming off) and so I decided to try something that I found on Pinterest.

Here's how I did it:
I started with tearing up some cotton balls & cutting some pieces of foil up. (I should probably cut bigger strips next time. Oh well)

Soak the cotton ball, but get the excess remover off before putting it on nail.

Stick cotton ball directly onto glittered nail & then cover with the piece of foil! Let it sit for about 5 minutes. (Also, it's easier if you do 1-3 fingers at a time)

And voila! It came off! Now, what color should I do this week?

I had a blast posting this on my blog today! Hope you have a fantastic Tuesday & God Bless!

I have coupons!!!

*I am currently a BZZAGENT & I basically review free products that they send to me and I am then supposed to tell all of you about these products*

Tone(R) Body Wash and Bath Bar

Tone Petal Soft Body Wash

This seriously is amazingly great! I have used it since Thursday after receiving it and I couldn't be more pleased. It smells like Rose Heaven, the pink bottle will lure in any woman who loves pink! It is thick, rich and creamy and goes on very well! It leaves my skin feeling moisturized and smelling fresh! I know if they sold it in lotion and deodorant, I would so buy it!!!

So, what are you waiting for? Go out and try it!!

Grief Share

Almost 4 weeks ago, I took a big step and decided to go to Grief Share. It's a group that takes 13 weeks to understand all the issues and things that come with grief and how to cope with them. My mom goes too and I think that makes it easier on me.

This class has helped me to better understand that what I'm feeling isn't a bad thing, but that others around me have to understand that I won't jump back to myself in a week. We were told a couple of weeks ago to write a letter to friends or family. I've been putting it off and now I'm realizing that I shouldn't. So if you're reading this, here's my letter to you.

Dear friends and family,
I lost my dad on September 14, 2013. Although it was a peaceful passing in which we (my mom, Sis & I) sat by my daddy's bed and sang "It Is Well with My Soul." That song could not bring more truth to someone who is going into heaven. God called him home. I miss him terribly & not a day goes by that I don't think of him. You may see me soon and wonder how I'm doing, and I may tell you "I'm ok," but deep down, my heart aches and breaks every time he is mentioned. It won't take months and it could take years, but I know with God's help, I'm going to get through this. I am in a rut, and if you come to my house and see several loads of clean laundry waiting to be folded or hung up, don't worry, I'll get to it eventually. I'm learning that this is part of my grief journey. Please still love me as I love you, please be my shoulder to cry on if I ever need it, and please remind me that God will get me through this, as he's gotten me through everything else.

Thank you for understanding.
Love Always,
Kim

Cleaning

This week I've challenged myself to do new things. Rather than trying to clean our entire house in one day, I've taken different areas and re-organized them.
Monday: nothing new, just dishes & laundry.
Tuesday: I cleaned out the fridge & cleaned the stove top.
Wednesday: cleaned the area where my cookbooks used to be & the bar connecting the kitchen to the living room (which always collects crud lol)
Thursday: re-organized the pantry.

It may not seem like a lot, but for someone who has been grieving over the loss of her dad & hasn't been in the mood to do much of anything, this is a HUGE deal. :)

Merry Christmas

I want to personally wish a Merry Christmas from our family to your family! God has richly blessed us (again) as we get to celebrate another year of Jesus' birth, spending time with loved ones and friends and enjoying each others company.

This month hasn't been the easiest for me, seeing as how Christmas is only 6 days away and the fact that my dad isn't here to celebrate with us. I am selfish and want him here with us, but when I think of how much fun he is having right now in Heaven, my earthly self is a little jealous.

1 year ago on Christmas, my mom & daddy came over to watch Jayden "unwrap" his gifts. I never thought it would be his last one. Never in a million years. So as I write this, please remember to tell your family that you love them, even if you say it a million times a day. Remember to squeeze them a little tighter and don't take them or the time you have with them for granted, because only God knows when he's calling us home.

Wonderland of Lights

This past weekend we had the pleasure of going to Marshall Texas: Wonderland of Lights with the Salinas' as well as mom. Best part, it was mom's treat!

Mom, Brady, Jayden & I loaded up the car Thursday evening and headed down there, because the weather was supposed to be nasty Friday (the actual day we were to leave originally) and I'm thankful that we did because pretty much everyone in DFW was iced in on Friday. Christine, Pete & the kids waited until Friday to come. They didn't get there until like 5 something because of bathroom breaks and changing a tire....the devil sure was trying to ruin the weekend, but we defeated him ONCE AGAIN!!

Friday night we celebrated Noelle's 3rd Birthday with pizza, cake and presents.

I think it's safe to say she had a good early birthday!!

Saturday was our day of fun!! We went downtown around 11 and slowly waited for things to open.
Ball Pit Fun

Piling on Santa's lap---good thing he wasn't a real dude, cause he wouldn't be smiling anymore lol
the best shot I got lol
Christine was reading the historical marker like daddy used to!
Pete & mom making sandwiches!

Brason ice skating!!

My handsome Hubbers didn't fall once! Show off ;-p

Paige & I! Trying to stand there and take a pic is not the easiest thing to do!

Poor Aiden's skates were too big!

Landon & Paige

Brason & Paige

Christine & I. Jayden & Faith. All snuggled up watching the parade!

This truck was decked out in lights!!

Jones-Salinas-Davidson Family Christmas picture!!
Brady & Jayden watching the parade!
We ended our evening with a Double Decker Bus Tour of the little town. We got to see all sorts of lights and homes! This was a huge set up of the word "BELIEVE". When I say huge, I mean, HHHUUUGGGEEE!! LOL

Sunday, checkout was supposed to be at 11, but the clerk at the front desk extended our stay until noon (how sweet of her--she probably knew we were going back to Dallas) So during the time that we had, we decorated Gingerbread Men. Big 'ol Gingerbread men! We paired up and had a blast!
Mom was supposed to be my partner, but she took pictures instead.

Christian & Aiden teamed up!

Christine & Noelle teamed up and made a gingerbread girl in her tankini LOL

Paige has a partner too...Jayden, but the only thing he wanted to do was eat the icing! lol
Landon & Brason had a TON of candy on there man!

Pete & Brady teamed up and were such good sports! That's why we love both of them!!

We left our men & women in the room for the cleaning ladies to enjoy :) I wonder if they threw them away or if they snagged a bite of two?

Overall, I think we all thoroughly enjoyed our weekend! Thank you again, mom!
